Spring Cleaning makes me want to throw everything out and start fresh. I have to stop myself.  I have these dreamy ideas of a clean luther free space but then I am attached to the memory of the things I want to ditch.  Which is healthier?

I am finally back in my studio, moved everything back in this week and therefore I am able to think big about my paintings again. Every year I have to move everything out of the studio due to the fact that the building is not a 4 season building.  Someday I will turn it into a proper insulated, mouse, wasp free building but for now I deal with the seasonal moves.

This winter I chose to move everything into the in the kitchen, which was not a great move! Although the view is stunning the backlight coming from the windows made it nearly impossible to paint during the day! I like to paint from 2 pm to 6pm. I couldn't see what the heck was really happening on the canvas, and painting with overhead florescents as my only light source was just not doing it for me .

I am happy with the work I did get finished (see attached) but I never spent a second creating work other than what I was commissioned to do.

So I am back in to my wonderful seasonal space which is all clean! and I am actually excited to start working on my Fall'12 exhibition.  My first in NYC.
