As for so many people around the world, my home and the immediate surroundings became the center of life in 2020. When faced with no where to go but where I was, I found that it was full to the brim with possibilities. I fell in love with all that was on offer especially the colors and textures of the treasures in the natural world. Since then I have learned how to make ink from the plants, trees and flowers that grow in the area and it has become the way I want to express myself. I continue to find ways to meld together the countless things I love about life and then place them in one tiny bottle at a time. In the years since, the ink I make is the only medium I use in my art practice. It continues to be magical and all encompassing. “Natural ink is a condensed landscape in a little bottle”, Jason Logan.
